ECOMP Replaces Troublesome NGB OWCP Process

June 9, 2015 (NEW ORLEANS) – The Department of Defense (DoD) has started migrating all civilian employee injury compensation claims to the Department of Labor's ECOMP web-based application.
The National Guard has activated access to the ECOMP web site effective June 8th.

Employees who experience a workplace injury or illness should go to the ECOMP site and initiate a claim. Unlike the previous EDI application, ECOMP is accessible from non-government computers and does not require CAC access. If you have any questions about the new system or need assistance filing a claim please click on the Workers Compensation link above, or feel free to contact your State Representative.

Decision Will Have A Significant Impact on Technician Retirement Calculations

New Orleans, LA (April 9, 2012) – In February of 2009 the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that a person who retires as a Dual-Status Technician of the Army or Air National Guard is excepted from the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP). Even though the case was decided over 3 years ago, it just recently made its way to the forefront, and over the last few weeks several members and outside organizations, including NGAUS and EANGUS, asked us to weigh in on the meaning of the decision, and the potential impact it would have on retired Dual-Status Technicians.
