About Us

LIUNA Local 1776 2019 Spring Conference Attendees

Our History

The Laborers International Union of North America (LIUNA) began representing National Guard employees in 1999. At that time, each state was a separate Union local, some having multiple locals within the same state. In January 2015 LIUNA merged all locals into one single national unit in order to provide more effective representation for our members. That national unit is known as LIUNA Local 1776.

Our Mission

LIUNA Local 1776's primary mission is to protect the pay, benefits, and workplace rights of National Guard civilian employees. We accomplish this through collective bargaining, member representation and training, and political action. We also provide access to exclusive discounts and insurance products.

Who We Represent

We currently represent dual-status technicians and title 5 employees in Arkansas, California, Guam, Illinois, Louisiana, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Utah.
